Northern Beaches · Manly and the harbour end
Seaforth buyers agent
Family houses above Middle Harbour, just over the Spit Bridge. We help you buy here with evidence, not guesswork.
About the suburb
Seaforth at a glance
Seaforth sits above Middle Harbour about 12 kilometres north-east of the city, in Northern Beaches Council, and is linked to Mosman by the Spit Bridge. Its name comes from Loch Seaforth and Seaforth Island in Scotland, and the suburb dates from 1906, when Henry Halloran subdivided his land.
It is mainly a suburb of family houses, and most homes are lived in by their owners. Couples with children are the largest household group, and the most common age group is 10 to 19.
To the west, Seaforth looks over Sugarloaf Bay towards Northbridge, Castlecrag and Castle Cove, and Garigal National Park runs along its northern border. The Seaforth library dates from 1887 and was heritage-listed by Manly Council in 1995, and the suburb marked its centenary on 12 November 2006.
The shopping centre sits just off Sydney Road and covers a wide range of everyday needs, and the Balgowlah RSL Memorial Club is here too. Seaforth Public School is in the suburb, and the former Seaforth TAFE site is now an aged care home. Buses cross the Spit Bridge to Mosman and the city.
The trade-offs are worth saying plainly. Many blocks fall steeply towards Middle Harbour, which affects access, building costs and what you can add later. Homes on the bush edge near Garigal National Park need checking for bushfire-prone land, and the approach to the Spit Bridge is busy at peak times. And because few apartments change hands, treat the apartment figures in the statistics box as a guide, not a price.
How we work
How we help you buy in Seaforth
In a suburb of family houses that rarely come up, the work is finding the right one before it is advertised, then judging it on evidence. On average, a search with us looks like this.
Director-led, start to finish
We are independent Northern Beaches buyers agents, based in Manly. You deal with Sarah and Mike directly. No juniors, no hand-offs. Over 75% of the homes we buy are secured off-market.
A fixed fee, agreed upfront
Our fee is set before we start and is not a percentage of the price, so we are never better off when you pay more.
We will tell you when to walk away
We are as proud of the houses we talk clients out of as the ones we buy. If a Seaforth house does not stack up, you will hear it from us first.
