About the suburb

Brookvale at a glance

Brookvale sits about 16 kilometres north-east of the city, in Northern Beaches Council. Its first development came in 1836, when farmland was granted to William Frederick Parker. In 1883 Sydney Alexander Malcolm built Brookvale House, and its land later made way for Warringah Mall.

Apartments far outnumber houses, and just over half of homes are lived in by their owners. Couples with children are the largest household group, and the most common age group is 30 to 39.

Brookvale has moved from farming to manufacturing and warehousing, and more recently to offices, and it remains a major industrial area. Many Italian families settled here after the Second World War, and immigrants from Pazzano still call it 'Pazzaniedu', or Little Pazzano. Brookvale Oval, on land given in 1911 by Jane Try of Brookvale House, is home to the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles.

Westfield Warringah Mall, in the south of the suburb, is the largest shopping centre in the area. Brookvale Public School and St Augustine's College are here, along with a TAFE NSW college on Old Pittwater Road, and Keolis Northern Beaches runs its Brookvale bus depot from Pittwater Road.

The trade-offs are worth saying plainly. Homes close to the industrial streets, the mall or the oval live with trucks, traffic and game-day crowds. For an apartment, the building comes first: strata records, levies and defects. And because few houses change hands here, treat the house figures in the statistics box as a guide, not a price.

A fixed fee, agreed upfront

Our fee is set before we start and is not a percentage of the price, so we are never better off when you pay more.

We will tell you when to walk away

We are as proud of the houses we talk clients out of as the ones we buy. If a Brookvale apartment or house does not stack up, you will hear it from us first.
