About the suburb
Riverview at a glance
Riverview sits on the northern side of the Lane Cove River, at the head of Tambourine Bay, about nine kilometres north-west of the city in the Municipality of Lane Cove. Its neighbours are Lane Cove, Lane Cove West, Linley Point, Hunters Hill and Longueville, and the foreshore is Tambourine Bay Park.
It is almost entirely houses, and most are lived in by their owners. Six in ten households are couples with children, and the most common age group is 10 to 19.
Owners tend to stay for many years, and many houses change hands quietly, without a public campaign. If you want to buy here, you need to be known to the people who hear first.
The suburb takes its name from its view of the river. Its best-known landmark is Saint Ignatius' College, Riverview, the Jesuit school on Tambourine Bay Road, whose sandstone main building dates from 1880; the college grounds include the Riverview Observatory. Buses run to Wynyard and to the McMahons Point ferry wharf, and River Road West links Riverview with Lane Cove West and Gladesville one way and Longueville and the city the other.
The trade-offs are worth saying plainly. There is no railway station in the suburb, so most people drive or take the bus. School traffic around the college is part of daily life on some streets. And in a suburb this size, a few large results can swing the numbers, so treat the statistics box as a guide, not a price.
How we work
How we help you buy in Riverview
In a suburb where many homes change hands without a public campaign, the work is finding the right house before it is advertised, then judging it on evidence. On average, a search with us looks like this.
Director-led, start to finish
You deal with Sarah and Mike directly. No juniors, no hand-offs. Over 75% of the homes we buy are secured off-market.
A fixed fee, agreed upfront
Our fee is set before we start and is not a percentage of the price, so we are never better off when you pay more.
We will tell you when to walk away
We are as proud of the houses we talk clients out of as the ones we buy. If a Riverview home does not stack up, you will hear it from us first.
